An Open Book

Welcome to my blog. I am the oldest of two children, the oldest granddaughter from a family whose roots run deep in Iowa farm country. From an early age, I knew that I was different than the rest of my family. I am more outspoken and independent. I make my own way in the world, and I make my own decisions and choices. And yet, I feel that I have a good heart. I always help others where I can. I truly believe you get back in life what you are willing to give. And I have been blessed. I've worked hard, but what I have in this life could not have happened without some serious help from a higher power.

But I have also known pain, and been very deeply hurt by those I have loved and trusted. I'm using this blog to try to voice my side of those life events that have caused me so much pain. Not to point fingers, or hurt anyone else, but just to finally voice the rest of the story. Others have been painting their narrative for years while I kept quiet.

Now it's my turn.
